7. With Ender 3 PRO turned off insert SD card. Power up and after about 10 seconds or so of a blank screen should enter the Marlin program and you should see the status screen. Check under information screen it is Marlin 2.0.7.2. 8. Now we have to zero the Z axis probe offset as outlined by "Dust": a.
This aborts the function because CAN_HOME_Z evaluates to false, which in turn is because the macro requires Z_MIN_PIN to be set. Expected behavior: Marlin uses the probe to detect when the bed has reached Z home. Actual behavior: Marlin aborts the homing process without lowering Z at all.
2. As I said in the title there is some issue with my z axis steppers. They will make a humming sound and vibrate a little but won't actually spin. I'm fairly sure this is an issue with the firmware (but I might be totally wrong) since they turn when the wires are switched with the ones for the Y axis and swapping the driver board for a spare
Z Safe Homing prevents Z from homing when the probe (or nozzle) is outside bed area by moving to a defined XY point (by default, the middle of the bed) before Z Homing when homing all axes with G28. As a side-effect, X and Y homing are required before Z homing.
Power up printer. Select MoveZ -> 30 (Z-Axis moves up) Select MoveZ -> 0 (Z-Axis moves back down to the original place) However, when I select "auto home" as in the video above, the z-axis will move up but is unable to move down. After initiating auto home, I can manually follow the above steps to MoveZ in an upwards direction, but setting the
In this case Z will move in manual mode but when homing it will try and stop as limit detected immediately. Change Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_INVERTING to opposite value. Triggered stops cause marlin to only allow the axis to move away from the stop during homing. If it is not moving at all, this couldn't be the cause.
Based on your pictures, Y_MIN should be -39, Y bed size is correct, and Y_MAX should be similar to the X_MAX where you subtract Y_MIN from Y_BED_SIZE. Assuming your printer has the ability to travel to all of these extremes, of course. E:Just read your comment about the edge of the Y axis not reachable by the nozzle.
Basically, my Ender 3 no longer auto-homes. Specifically, the Z-Axis no longer moves down (the X and Y axis seems to be fine). Not only will it not Auto-home, but going to "Move axis" in the Prepare menu will also not move the Z-Axis down. I have attached a video I found on YouTube that showcases basically the exact same problem I am having.

Firmware: Marlin v1.1.1 (2020-04-25) Problem. M119 seems to indicate that the z_min is always triggered, despite the bed being about halfway up the Z-axis You can move the bed down by rotating the rod and then repeat your homing and/or M119. Reply reply
